How walkable is your neighborhood? Front Seat, the civic
software company that operates the online walkability tool
Walk Score, enlisted C+C to publicize the launch of its
ranked list of America’s Most Walkable Cities & Neighborhoods.
With skyrocketing gas prices and a rising consumer interest
in compact, livable communities, www.walkscore.com is
a valuable tool to help people find walkable places to
live. Just enter any address and Walk Score shows you a
map of what's nearby and calculates a “Walk Score” from
1-100 based on nearby amenities such as schools, grocery
stores, restaurants and parks. Walk Score analyzed walkability
data for over 2,500 neighborhoods in the nation’s
40 largest cities to develop the list.
Media outreach efforts earned extensive coverage, including
placements on the Yahoo! and MSN home pages, NPR, USA
Today, Marketwatch, front page of the San Francisco
Chronicle, Reuters, the Boston Globe, more
than 50 TV placements around the country and countless
online and blog mentions. On launch day, Walk Score’s
web traffic skyrocketed and it was one of the web’s
most popular real estate-related sites.
C+C’s Walk Score is 100/100. What’s yours?
