Approximately 36 states are expecting some level of water shortage by the year 2013. To help communities with this looming problem, EPA created WaterSense, a program that labels products and services that save water and perform as well as their less-efficient counterparts. Though the program officially launched in June 2006, the C+C team has been involved with WaterSense since the planning stages of the program began three years ago. C+C’s work has included helping to name the program, developing brand guidelines and key messages, media training, creating and placing PSAs, creating media materials, implementing media relations activities and creating supporting viral tools.

EPA’s WaterSense is quickly becoming the recognized national brand for water efficiency. So far more than 70 major manufacturers, distributors and organizations have partnered with the program. WaterSense public services announcements are running in national consumer and trade publications, and media coverage has yielded more than 130 million impressions nationwide.
