#1: Determine the goals
Good communications strategy starts with well-defined
goals. Each strategy and tactic is planned to help achieve
those goals. Flexibility is built in to allow for course
correction and the ability to take advantage of opportunities

define your communications goals and map the best path
to achieve them.
Step #2: Make the plan
We use a social marketing planning process to help clients
figure out how to use communications to achieve their
goals. The best plans are developed side-by-side with
our clients. We start with your goals and objectives,
and if needed, conduct research to find information and
insight into your target audiences. We then create a
detailed profile of your audiences – Who are they?
How do they think and feel? What will it take to change
their behaviors? We use this information to find the
insight that will catch the attention and motivate the
audience. This insight is the foundation of a message
strategy that is used throughout the campaign. We then
pick the best communication vehicles to deliver the message
to the audience and create a plan for evaluating the
success of the campaign.
